North Las Vegas Elite Sod & Turf provides professional hybrid bermuda sod in North Las Vegas, NV for residential and commercial properties across the Las Vegas Valley. Hybrid Bermuda sod is the only grass we install in North Las Vegas without a caveat attached, because it is the one warm-season turf that genuinely belongs in the Mojave: deep-rooted, heat-proof, self-repairing, and thrifty enough with water to survive a valley irrigation schedule. We install Tifway 419, TifTuf, Celebration and Midiron, and the cultivar choice is a real decision rather than a shrug. Start with the part nobody mentions at the garden centre. Clark County ordinance prohibits planting common Bermuda because of the volume of pollen it throws — University of Nevada Extension states that plainly — so the seeded cheap stuff is not a legal option here regardless of what a video told you. Hybrid Bermuda is sterile or near-sterile, finer in texture, denser, and produces far less pollen, which is why it is what gets laid as sod. Tifway 419 is the workhorse and still the standard specification on athletic fields: dense, quick to knit, and it recovers from cleat and dog traffic faster than anything else we install. TifTuf came out of a University of Georgia drought-screening program and holds green colour under water stress longer than the older lines, which matters a great deal when your assigned watering days drop to three a week in October. Celebration is the blue-green one with the best shade tolerance in the family, and it is our pick for a yard with a mature mesquite or a two-storey neighbour throwing afternoon shadow. Midiron is the cold-hardier southwestern line, greens up a bit later, and holds up on the north-side lots that get colder than people expect at 2,205 feet. Now the honest downside, said out loud, because it is the number one complaint we hear. Hybrid Bermuda goes completely dormant when soil temperatures drop, which in North Las Vegas means straw-brown from roughly November through March. It is not dead. It is asleep, and it will green up on its own. But if you want a green lawn in January you either overseed with perennial ryegrass in October or you plant tall fescue and pay for it in water. There is no warm-season grass that stays green through a Mojave winter, and anybody who tells you otherwise is selling paint. The install matters more here than in a wetter market. We excavate down through the caliche rather than laying sod on a cemented pan that water cannot cross, till compost and gypsum into the top six inches, laser-grade for fall away from the slab, and lay pallets in a tight running bond with staggered seams. Bermuda spreads by both stolons and rhizomes so it will close small gaps on its own, but it will only do that if the roots have somewhere to go. Sod goes down within about 24 hours of harvest, because a pallet sitting in 108-degree afternoon sun is a compost heap with a delivery ticket. Maintenance is straightforward and non-negotiable: a late-winter scalp before green-up, a mow height between one and two inches, and steady nitrogen through the growing season. Neglected Bermuda goes thatchy and pale and people blame the grass. It is the calendar.

Materials, equipment and how we do hybrid bermuda sod
The difference between hybrid bermuda sod that lasts and hybrid bermuda sod that gets redone in three years is almost always preparation and materials, not the finish you see on day one. We work with Tifway 419 hybrid Bermuda sod, TifTuf Bermuda, Celebration Bermuda, Midiron Bermuda, spec them to the job instead of to the invoice, and write the material grades into the free estimate so you know exactly what you are buying.
Every North Las Vegas job runs the same way: site walk and measurements, written scope and fixed price, protection of the surrounding area, then the work itself with a daily clean-up. 15+ years of sod installation work in the Las Vegas Valley means we have already met whatever your property is going to throw at us — awkward access, older construction, an HOA with opinions.
